What is Huck's "religion"? How does it effect his relationship with Jim? How does it reflect life on the shore? Is it a topic of satire?

Huck religion is that of most people in the United States at that time, a sort of biased, twisted form of Christianity. Huck views on religion are obviously altered by his surroundings, which leads in part to him believing blacks are lesser people. Jim believes in what would be considered the Christian faith as well, except with a touch of African superstition. This leads Huck to believe that Jim is partially smart, due to his “prophecies” formed by the superstitions. The altered Christian religion represents the sort of “hillbilly” life that reflects living on the shore and living in a way that isn’t considered city life. This is a topic of satire because it sort of pokes fun at the uneducated bias that is present in the racist southern Christians.

In response to religion:

This paragraph brought some good points about this differences in Huck and Jim's religions. However, you didn't really elaborate about Huck's views. In addition, there were a few grammatical errors. Why do you think that their religion "represents" their lifestyle?
